Mission & History

First and foremost, with respect to our Mission ~ Berthoud Habitat for Humanity?is a non-profit housing ministry that seeks to put God’s love into action, working to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Read about our longstanding history by clicking here.

We are one of 25 Habitat affiliates serving 45 Colorado communities under the umbrella of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). HFHI is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the US and in approximately 70 countries with a vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Non-Proselytizing

Berthoud Habitat for Humanity will not proselytize nor work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with Habitat for Humanity. This means that Berthoud Habitat for Humanity will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must (i) adhere to convert to a particular faith or (ii) listing and respond to messaging designed to induce conversation to a particular faith.

Safeguarding

Habitat for Humanity International has no tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. Nothing is more important than the welfare of the people in the communities where we work, our volunteers and our staff. Employees and members of the communities where we work are encouraged to report incidents of exploitation, abuse or harassment, including through our confidential reporting system, the Habitat Ethics and Accountability Line. We can only address and stop safeguarding violations if we all are committed to being a part of the solution. Kindly take a few moments to view our?safeguarding orientation video?to learn more about what safeguarding is, how to recognize safeguarding violations and how to report them.?

Should you want to discuss anything or have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact Laura Collins, at laura@berthoudhabitat.org.

We look forward to working alongside you to make a positive impact in our Berthoud community!
