Berthoud Habitat for Humanity is grateful for the support we receive from volunteers in Habitat For Humanity’s RV Care-A-Vanner program who travel the U.S. and Canada in their motorhomes, fifth wheels and trailers to help build affordable housing for families in need.
Anyone can become an RV Care-A-Vanner, no experience is needed. On-site training by our affiliate is available, along with a range of projects to work on, like framing, interior renovations and landscaping.
We also need help in the office and around the site to help clean up and do small odds and ends. This is an ideal experience for retired RVers, RVing families, or anybody with a rig who wants to help low income families in our community.
The non-profit builds take a team of 7 – 15 volunteers and usually two week commitments. The workdays usually entail 6 – 7 hours of building with breaks in the morning, lunch and afternoon.
Our affiliate will provide low-cost RV parking, instruction, supervision, power tools, building materials and necessary equipment to get the job done.
We also offer electric hookups, and access to water and sewer.
On the HFHI RV Care-A-Vanner website, you can browse the scheduled builds coming up and register for our affiliate’s program.
